Graduate Student Association Meeting

College of Public Health Building, Room 1202

Student Marathon Team:

The rate for sponsoring the marathon has been set at $350/ad.  As noted in last month’s minutes, this year all logos will be the same size.  The goal is six.

 

As of October 26th, the following sponsorships have been obtained:

Bailey Properties- $400

Spokes- $350

AC&F- $350

Thanksgiving Potluck: 

The date of this year’s Thanksgiving Potluck has been confirmed as November 15th and will start at noon.  The ham, dressing, drinks, turkey, and gravy will be provided.

For the event we will borrow chairs from the Biomed penthouse and the GSA will buy disposable tablecloths.   Also, we will be taking our group picture that day to go on the GSA website.

To encourage participation in the potluck nature of the event, four $10 gift cards from Amazon.com will be awarded for winners in the following categories:

Best Dessert

Best Dressing

Best Side

Best Salad

 

The event will be promoted through e-mail from the GSA account and fliers.

 

Service Project

On November 3rd the GSA participated in a project with Habitat for Humanity where we all became skilled lawnsmen (and women) by laying sod for their newly built house.

 

ASG Report

Cliff Stephenson with IT Services is leading the project to increase UAMS’s technology.  They have the systems narrowed down between Banner and PeopleSoft but would like student input before they make the final decision.  His e-mail address is listed below.

Chad has signed up for the Insurance & Health Center Committee and Serra for the 12th Street Clinic Committee.
